In our opinion, Costa Rica is one of the most beautiful places in
the world. Within this small country are countless landmarks
providing a wide range of activities such as hiking, biking,
snorkeling and scuba diving, birdwatching, shopping. With
several national parks, active volcanoes, reefs, beaches and
rainforests, there is something for almost everyone.
The Details:
From the capital, San Jose, you can drive by car to either the
Pacific Coast or the Gulf of Mexico in a few hours. For those
of you adverse to extremely rough dirt roads, and the need to
ask for directions constantly, you can also take smaller planes to
your destination.
In our opinion, a four-wheel drive vehicle, topographic map, and
fluency in Spanish is the only way to experience Costa Rica.
